New Paper in the Journal of the Anthroplogy Society of South Australia

I'm a co-author on a recently published paper entitled "Geophysical Investigations of the Tabernacle (Yilke) Cemetery, Encounter Bay, South Australia" by Marshallsay, Moffat and Beale.  This paper documents the results of a survey programme to locate unmarked graves in a historic cemetery undertaken a few years ago at the request of the local Uniting church.  The work was funded by the Sir Mark Mitchell Foundation and I was assisted in the field phase by a fantastic group of student volunteers.  I'm delighted that this work is (finally) accessible and would be very happy to pass on a PDF to anyone who is interested.

Paliaos Paper on Bovid Tooth from Skhul

I recently coauthored a short paper published in the journal Paliaos in which I sequentially sampled the strontium isotope composition of dentine and enamel from a Palaeolithic aged bovid molar from the Israeli site of Skhul.  The results suggest sub-annual mobility of this animal between isotopically distinct geological environments

Phd Done!

I'm very happy to report that I finally submitted my PhD thesis entitled "Spatially Resolved Strontium Isotope Microanalysis of Lower and Middle Palaeolithic Fauna from Archaeological Sites in Israel and Southern France" in January 2013.  Accordingly , I'm spending the next four months travelling from Asia to Europe and ignoring work for a while.
